FRENCH III ORAL FINAL TOPICS

Listed below are the four possible topics for the Oral
Final Exam on Monday, January 9, 2006.
On that date, the teacher will select the situation and which role each
student will play. Therefore, each
student should be prepared to perform every role in all four of the situations.
A. La
Rentrée. With a partner,
play the roles of an American exchange student at a lycée in
B. Au Commissariat. With a partner, play the roles of a police officer at the police station in Nice and a tourist who was robbed at the flower market (marché aux fleurs) on Saturday morning. During the course of the interview, the officer should collect information from the tourist (name, address, date of birth), find out when the robbery took place, what was stolen, and get a description of the person who robbed the tourist.
C. Un Soir à Paris. With a partner, play the roles of an American exchange student and a French friend who are deciding what do to in Paris tonight. During the course of your conversation, each person proposes an event (movie, play, concert, etc.) from a guide and explains why they should attend. After discussing at least two events, you agree on where you are going, at what time, and how to get there.
D. Le Monde du travail. With a partner, play the roles of an American student and a French exchange student. The American is interviewing the exchange student about the world of work in France. During the course of your conversation, talk about your plans after high school, potential professions and the training qualifications needed for them, concerns about unemployment, and state your opinions on possible government programs for creating jobs.
